This is a great reframe and I love how you are so humble and curious about learning more, looking at new ways of seeing things. I listened to the podcast with Dana - very inspiring and resonated with me deeply. Since not drinking for 6 years, I keep peeling back more layers. Disordered eating is a recent layer and I’ve been curious as to “why is this coming up now?” Working with a therapist to understand more. BIG thanks to you both! 🙌
Beautiful... thank you for sharing, Michelle. The layers are in some way, the most interesting part! I've had some readers share that they don't "get" this post and I am starting to understand that this theme is quite nuanced and could seem quite esoteric / inaccessible if you haven't been through a bunch of weeds yet :)
I’m in weed whacking mode for sure. Toolkit and safety goggles required! I’m learning that this is a long process for me - remaining open and curious and listening to my inner voice is the way through it. With lots and patience. And prob a few grass stains while I’m at it.
This post is so timely, both personally and culturally. Much to let filter through and settle in me, and I look forward to reading this several more times.
You asked for female voices… I’ve so appreciated the writings of Hilary McBride, most notably her book “The Wisdom of Your Body.” A good one to add to the list of resources to support and deepen a more consciously loving connection to our bodies.
Very grateful for our podcast conversation, Cecily! So interesting, the question about heart and body. I don’t consider them separate. For me (coming from a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective), practices that are embodied offer a tangible access point to the more intangible heart-mind-spirit.

Ooh.. thank you, Erica, for sharing Hilary's work. I look forward to diving in. Women's voices are so important here.

This makes me smile…see?! I have a lot to learn here 🙏🏼
Not that I think I know the "right" answer :). Just different ways of making sense, making meaning... 🙏🏼
